Boycott the 2026 USA World Cup

A new Trump administration has taken power in the USA, implementing alarming authoritarian policies that impact border enforcement, domestic immigration policy, and international trade & diplomacy.

Visitors to the USA may face issues getting through customs, obtaining visas, or being detained. The USA has also become increasingly oppressive at home and confrontational abroad; including discussions of military action along the Mexican border and threatening to annex Canada as the 51st State.

In 2018, FIFA selected the USA, Canada and Mexico to co-host the 2026 World Cup. Sixteen cities are planning to host matches, including 11 in the USA, which is set to host 26 of the 32 knockout-stage games.

For the safety of the players and their supporters, and in response to domestic policies that put residents and visitors at risk, games scheduled in the USA must be moved or boycotted.

Boycott Statements

The worldwide athletic community has contingencies and leverage. If the perception persists, domestically and globally, that this country is not a safe place for international visitors or, more important than anything to FIFA and the International Olympic Committee, a safe place for their money, the governing bodies have the power to move these events to a more hospitable and dependable partner.
